Johnny Hunt Mens Conference
Jan 31 & Feb 1, 2020

Dear Friends:

Most, if not all of us, have gotten into the middle of a project only to find we didn’t have the right tool to finish or the problem we started trying to fix was much bigger than we expected. Sometimes, instead of jumping into the middle of a situation to fix it, we would be better off starting from scratch at the foundation. Often, in our lives as well as our projects, its not that we need a to make a simple repair.

Men, we need to rip out the walls and completely Renovate. The issues that threaten to destroys us call for more than duct tape, stopping leaks and other quick fixes. As husbands, fathers, friends and leaders, there is far too much at stake. Bring your sledgehammers, your pick axes, and your nail guns. Together, let’s break our lives down, past the walls we’ve built up, to the studs and the slab. Let’s rebuild on a Biblical foundation:

  • Lives that have no secret rooms where Jesus is not welcome.
  • Lives full of light, that freely conduct the current of His power.
  • Lives that make our friends, family, and most importantly, our Lord feel at home.

I hope you will join me and thousands of men for this weekend of spiritual renovation. Can't attend the live event? Let me teach the Word of God at YOUR church, along with thousands of other men around the globe! Learn more about the Simulcast at

Senior Pastors, I am thrilled to invite you to a leadership breakout that will help challenge and equip you for the unique struggles you face in ministry. This special breakout is included in your registration fee but you will need a separate ticket for this event. You can register and get your ticket here. In His Grip

Note: There are significant discounts for Group Purchases! Do not overbuy! There are no refunds! All Tickets Include Keynote CDs. Everyone entering the building needs to have a ticket in hand. We periodically get asked, “What is the recommended age for a young man to attend the Men’s Conference?” The answer depends upon the maturity level of the young man. However, we believe that any young man mature enough to sit through and understand regular adult sermons is old enough. While the subject matter at the Men’s Conference is of a mature nature, we also know that our kids are facing these issues at an early age. The Middle School and High School Pastor of FBCW will be leading a workshop specifically for the young men that attend. Know that all ticket sales are final and that refunds are not offered. However, if you have purchased a ticket and cannot attend please let us know and we will give your ticket to a man that needs financial help in order to attend. Again, we cannot wait for this year’s conference. Come prepared to learn and grow in your relationship with God and please begin to pray for lives to be changed, for marriages to be saved and for the thousands of men attending this conference. Others. That singular focus summarizes the contagious passion that “Pastor Johnny” has imparted to First Baptist Church Woodstock and the countless lives across the globe his preaching and shepherding have touched. In January of 2019 Pastor Johnny began the transition away from First Baptist Woodstock as the Senior Pastor to become the Executive Vice President of Evangelism and Leadership at the North American Mission Board. While the church has experienced significant growth under his leadership, it is growth of the person, not the platform, that continues to energize a ministry that sees its best days ahead under the new Senior Pastor, Jeremy Morton.

Foremost among the “others” he lives for are his wife, Janet Allen Hunt, his two daughters Deanna Carswell and Hollie Hixson; and his 4 grand children, Katie, Carson, Hope, and Addie.

Before coming to Woodstock, Pastor Johnny served at Lavonia Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC, Falls Baptist Church in Wake Forest North Carolina, and his home church, Longleaf Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC.

Pastor Johnny’s educational credits include a BA in Religion from Gardner-Webb College where he was voted “Ministerial Student of the Year” in 1979. He continued onto Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity in 1981. Southeastern honored Pastor Johnny in 1997 by naming The Chair of Biblical Preaching in his honor in 1997. He has also received several honorary Doctorates over the years for his work in ministry.

Pastor Jeremy and his wife, Carrie are lifelong Georgia residents who were church planters in the central part of the state for many years. Jeremy became the senior co-pastor of First Baptist Woodstock in 2018. Before coming to Woodstock, Pastor Jeremy served as the senior pastor at Cartersville First Baptist Church. Jeremy served as the senior pastor at Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry from its inception in 2002.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christianity from Brewton Parker College in 2004, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007, and upon completing his dissertation will receive his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Jeremy’s hobbies include sports, reading, enjoying nature, and spending time with family. Pastor Jeremy’s life purpose statement: “I aim to glorify God by being a faithful husband, supportive father, loyal friend, and loving leader.”

Jeremy and Carrie are the proud parents of three beautiful children; Zeke, Madie, and Abe.

Bob Reccord - Worship Center
Title: “Beneath the Surface: What is there that will Make You or Break You?” – Description: Living in a day in which everything is judged by “how it looks” and the cosmetics of appeal, be it a person, a building, a product, or life, the question screams to be asked: Is that all there is?  We will look at the man in Scripture who had it all…and lost it all.  Why?  Because he never took time to go back to the foundation, renovate the damage in his life, and rebuild.  Let’s learn from his missteps!  This session will be translated into Spanish and will be simulcast Saturday morning.

Bob Reccord ( is a nationally known speaker to men, churches and Pro-Life causes. His journey includes: business executive, pastor in 3 states, founding Pres/CEO of the North American Mission Board and speaker for Promise Keepers. As the Exec. Dir. of Council for Natl. Policy in Washington DC he worked with many of our national leaders. Bob has 3 grown kids and 7 grandchildren. He loves hunting, golf and adventure.

Gary Bates - Chapel
Title: “The Deep Time Deception: The Age of the Earth and Why it Matters” – Description: Although many believers do not accept evolution, some think that the days of creation could be millions of years each or that there are gaps of deep time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. But most don’t actually know where the idea of deep time comes from. Understanding this will highlight why adding millions of years to Scripture is actually a problem for the Gospel.  This session will be translated into Spanish and will be simulcast Friday night.

Gary Bates ( is the CEO of Creation Ministries International. CMI conducts thousands of presentations and employs more scientists than any other Christian ministry. Gary is the author of Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection (an top 50 bestseller) and the children’s book One Big Family, which explains how all ‘racial’ groups are literal descendants of Adam and Eve. He has written hundreds of articles and has recently coauthored the top selling booklet, How did we get our Bible—and is it the Word of God?

Keith Boggs - B Building Gym
Title: “Manhood Today” – Description: You were made by God and you were made for God and until you surrender to and buy into that, you will never be the man God has called you to be.

Keith Boggs leads (REAL MOMENTUM Ministries) and helps churches establish an effective disciple-making ministry to men [offering men’s ministry coaching, local church men’s events, and strategic mission partnerships]. Keith also leads a weekly Bible Study for the FBCW Men’s Ministry at Woodstock. He and his wife, Nichole, married 21 years, have ten children, and live in North Atlanta.

James Eubanks – B Building Lower Level
Title: “Walls and Windows of the Heart” – Description: Secure home or prison? It depends on where the walls are placed. Access or vulnerability? It depends on who the windows are open to. Renovate your marriage, by tearing down the walls of division and opening the windows of connection with your wife.

James Eubanks has served as the Director of Counseling at FBCW for over 19 years. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified EFT Couples Therapist he lives out his passion to help couples repair, reconnect and rebuild their relationship. James and his wife Carol, have been married for 37 years and are proud parents and grandparents.

Brian Jennings – Magnolia Room
Title: “Renovating Masculinity” – Description: The next generation is growing up in a gender-fluid, screen-obsessed world declaring that if there is such a thing as masculinity, it’s toxic and outdated. In this breakout, we’ll build a renovated masculinity on biblical foundations that is adapted for and able to withstand the cultural winds.

Brian Jennings is the Middle School Pastor at FBCW and a camp pastor for LifeWay’s Fuge Camps. A graduate of Virginia Tech and Southeastern Baptist Seminary, he has been working with children, students, and families in the local church for 12 years. He is married to his wife Emily and they have 3 sons, Elliot, Benjamin, & Gideon.
